ENG VS WI 3rd Test: England are on a strong position at the end of Day 2

The Day 2 of the third Test between England and West Indies comes to an end. With England are in strong position in this match, the hosts are looking to win all three Test matches against West Indies. 

The visitors were on a decent position at the end of the opening Day. Even they started Day 2 with an excellent bowling performance in the first session. They took 5 wickets of England under 60 runs. But England, somehow, managed to score 350+. The hosts are now on a driving seat at the of Day 2. West Indies are two down and they are still trail by 61 runs. West Indies needs a big partnership to tackle England's bowling. West Indies lost their captain and they are looking to build a strong partnership Alick Athanaze and Mikyle Louis. 


ENG Vs WI 3rd Test: Day 1 Story

West Indies won the toss and they decided to bat first in the last and final Test. West Indies, however, managed to cross 250 runs mark but they didn't crossed 300. West Indies Captain Kraig Brathwaite yet again performed well and gave a good start to West Indies. He got out after scoring 61 runs off 86 balls with the help of 8 boundaries. After a 76 runs opening partnership, west Indies had a mini collapsed until Jason Holder and Joshua De Silva saved West Indies through a century partnership between them. All Rounder Jason Holden scored 59 runs while Wicketkeeper Joshua De Silva made 49 runs. At the end, West Indies scored a total of 282 runs in the first innings. They have played 75.1 overs. So, there was still 15 overs left in the day. West Indies took full advantage of those 15 overs. They took 3 wickets of England. The hosts scored only 38 runs and lost 3 wickets at the end of the first day. 

ENG Vs WI 3rd Test: Day 2 Story 

England started Day 2 with 38-3. England lost Ollie Pope and Harry Brook in a quick succession. England were in immense pressure after losing five wickets in less than 60 runs. After losing five wickets early, Captain Ben Stokes and Joe Root scored amazing 115 runs partnership. They both didn't crossed a 100 runs mark, but they performed well. 

After losing 7 wickets on 231 runs, England yet again made a comeback in the game. Jamie Smith and Chris Woakes put a century stand. Jamie Smith missed out his well deserved century by 5 runs. He was dismissed by Shamar Joseph. England scored 376 runs. 

After excellent Batting Performance by Root, Stokes, Smith, and Woakes, England continued it's momentum by taking two quick wickets of West Indies before the end of Day 2. West Indies will start Day 3 with 33-2.
