England won by 10 wickets against West Indies in the final Test match
The third and final Test match between England and West Indies ends as the hosts white washed the visitors. West Indies had started this test match brilliantly especially on the first day when the got three quick wickets of England before the day ends.
West Indies, however, had a poor tour. They lost three consecutive Test matches against England. Although, they registered victory against Australia in Australia earlier in this year. That was West Indies first win against Australia in Australia since 1997. It was a historic day for Shamar Joseph & West Indies. Shamar Joseph was the Star in that history victory for West Indies. England had a very good series. They also climbed in the the World Test Champions 2024-2025 after white washed West Indies.
West Indies Batting: First Innings
West Indies Captain Kraig Brathwaite leaded from the front. He smashed 61 runs with the help of 8 boundaries. After the dismissal of M. Loius, West Indies lost wickets on a regular interval. They were 115 for 5 at one stage, but then Jason Holder and Joshua De Silva scored a brilliant partnership. They helped West Indies to post 282 in the first innings.
England's Batting: First Innings
Engalnd had a very bad start with the in the first innings. They were really in big trouble after they lost 5 wickets on 54 runs. Since then, Captain Ben Stokes and one of England's best Test batsman Joe Root scored a century partnership. After Ben Stokes got out, Jamie Smith played a magnificent knock. Unfortunately, he missed his well deserved century by 5 runs, but he played a very good innings. Woakes also scored a fifty. England recovered from 54 for 5 to 376-10.
West Indies Batting: Second Innings
Kraig Brathwaite who scored a fifty in the first innings, has failed to deliver in the second innings. He dismissed by chris Woakes on 0. Brathwaite's opening partner M. Louis scored a fifty. He made 57 runs. Kevam Hodge also scored a fifty but he didn't convert it into hundred. West Indies showed a poor display of batting in the second innings. They got all out on just 175 runs. They gave an easy target to England.
England's Batting: Second Innings
England's Captain Ben Stokes had given himself an opportunity to open the innings. He saw that the required target is under 100, so he decided to open the innings with Ben Duckett. His decision of opening went very good. He made a record of the fastest Test fifty by any England's player. He remained not out on 57 runs and leaded England to yet another Test match victory. England won this Test match by 10 Wickets.
Mark Wood was awarded with the player of the match award while Gus Atkinson was awarded with the player of the series award.
