England Won by an Innings and 114 against West Indies
England won the first Test after beating West Indies by an innings and 114 runs. Ben Stokes leads England to another comfortable victory over West Indies. This was also the last match for James Anderson. But, James Anderson couldn't got more wickets in his final match, because Gus Atkinson took 12 wickets in his debut match. West Indies showed poor batting and display in the first Test. Gus Atkinson had a debut to remember. He will remember his debut Test match for a very long time. But, A legend and a prolific player of England, James Anderson played his final Test match for England.
West Indies Batting: First Innings
West Indies showed an ordinary Batting Performance in the first innings. The Captain of the West Indies Kraig Brathwaite couldn't play big innings. He was dismissed by a debutant Gus Atkinson. Mikyle Lious, on debut, scored 27 runs. He was the top scorer for West Indies in the first innings. Former Captain, Jason Holder got out on the very first ball. Joshua De Silva also couldn't stayed too long on the crease. He was back to the dressing room after got out on 0. After a poor display of Batting, West Indies only managed to score 121.
England Bowling: First Innings
England were clinical with the ball. Debutant Gus Atkinson were superb with the ball. He took 7 Wickets in the first innings. Captain Ben Stokes also provided a breakthrough with the ball. James Anderson managed to took only one wicket. They bowled out West Indies under 130 following a brilliant Bowling Performance by Gus Atkinson.
England Batting: First Innings
After a brilliant Performance with the ball, England showed an excellent Performance with the bat also. Zak Crawley, an attacking opener, played yet another excellent innings of 76 runs in 89 balls with the help of 14 boundaries. England's finest Test Batsman Joe Root scored amazing 68 runs. Came at number 3, Olie Pope didn't disappointed his captain. He scored a brilliant fifty with the help of 11 boundaries. Jamie Smith, on his debut match, played a magnificent 70 runs knock. After a very good Performance with bat, England scored 371 runs in 90 overs.
West Indies Batting: Second Innings
West Indies didn't recover from the first innings disaster. They were truly dominated by England. Captain Kraig Brathwaite got dismissed by James Anderson on 4 runs. Alick Athanaze managed to score only 22 runs. Gudakesh Motie, who was remained not out on 14 runs, scored 31 runs and remianed not out at the of second innings.
England Bowling: Second Innings
Following his 7 wickets haul in the first innings, Gus Atkinson took a consecutive fifer's in his debut Test match. He took 5 wickets in 14 overs he bowled. Ben Stokes also got couple of wickets.
James Anderson, playing his final Test innings for England, managed to took three wickets. James Anderson ended his Prolific Test Career with 704 Wickets. England won this Test match by an innings and 114 runs.
