India won by 7 wickets against Sri Lanka in the second T20I

The second T20I between Sri Lanka and India was played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The visitors choosed to bowl first after winning the toss. This was Sri Lanka's must win game in order to keep the series alive. But, they were not succeeded to level the series.

Suryakumar Yadav gave them batting first. The hosts although, started decently, but there didn't ended their innings on a high note. The indian bowlers made a comeback at the end of the few overs. India had only played 3 balls before the rain came. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 8 overs. India needed to chase down 78 runs in 8 overs to win the series. They done that with ease. Gautam Gambhir started his coaching role as a T20I series winner against Sri Lanka. 

Sri Lanka: Batting Performance 

Pathum Nissanka, who played a magnificent innings in the first T20I, gave another decent start to Sri Lanka. But Kusal Mendis didn't bat well in this match. 

Kusal Parera made a good 53 runs off 34 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 6 fours at a strike rate of around 155. He leaded Sri Lanka to a decent total. Captain Charith Asalanka made 14 runs. Sri Lanka's lower order collapsed. If they made a decent contribution, Sri Lanka would have been crossed 175 runs. Sri Lanka scored 161 runs for the loss of 9 wickets at the end of 20 Overs.

India: Bowling Performance 

Ravi Bishnoi bowled an excellent bowling spell. He took 3 wuckets and gave away 26 runs in his four overs. Arshdeep also took couple of wickets. He dismissed Charith Asalanka and Kusal Mendis. Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya also took couple of wickets to restrict india under 165.

India: Batting Performance 

India didn't bat for 20 Overs. Rather, they needed to score 78 runs off 48 balls to won this match.

India had young and aggressive opener Yashawi Jaiswal who can score quickly. They have that advantage. He scored 30 runs off 15 balls at the strike rate of 200. Sanju Samson, who was given the opportunity to open the innings with Jaiswal, got out on very first ball. But the No.1 T20I batsman Suryakumar Yadav played some powerful shots and out pressure back on the Sri Lanka. Hardik Pandya at the end played at a strike rate of around 245 and leaded india to their second consecutive win on this tour.

Sri Lanka: Bowling Performance 

Wanindu Hasaranga gone very expensive in his 2 overs. He gave away 34 runs and took just one wicket. Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana also got a wicket. Sri Lankan Bowlers couldn't defend 78 runs in 8 overs. India won the T20I series with one match left.
