Sri Lanka won the historic ODI Series against India

After a forgettable T20I Series, Sri Lanka bounced back and won the ODI Series by 2-0 against India. After a long wait of 27 yeras, Sri Lanka finally won the ODI Series against India. India were looking strong in Gautam and Surya pair, but they couldn't won a single ODI match in Gautam and Rohit pair. 

Sri Lanka fought hard throughout the series in the bowling. They have maded comeback in the back in all three games. They first ODI were almost pulled off by Sri Lanka. India didn't batted well especially against Sri Lankan spinners. They struggled against them throughout the series. Sri Lanka will surely enjoy this series victory against the Asian Giants for a long time. 

Sri Lanka: Batting 

The Openers provided a vital start to Sri Lanka in the final ODI. The hosts lost their first wicket on 89 runs. Pathum Nissanka made 45 runs. Avishka Fernando played extremely well. Unfortunately, he missed out a well deserved Hundred by 4 runs as he falls to Riyan Parag on 96 runs. Kusal Mendis scored 59 runs off 82 balls with the help of 4 boundaries. Sri Lanka collapsed from 171-1 to 199-6. At one point, Sri Lanka were looking to touch 270 runs mark. But, wickets were falling continuously. Thus, Sri Lanka managed to score 248 runs for the loss of 7 wickets at the end of 50 overs.

India: Batting 

India's Captain Rohit Sharma started well with some powerful and confident shots. He was playing at a strike rate of 175 with the help of 6 fours and 1 six. He was playing well until he got out by Dunith Wellalage on 35 runs. Shubman Gill yet again failed in the last ODI. Virat kohli had a forgettable ODI series. He didn't score even a fifty throughout the series. He was also struggling against the spinners. He got out from the spinners three times in this series. The middle order didn't took responsibility. India mangaed to score only 138 runs and got all out in 26.1 overs.

Sri Lanka: Bowling

Asitha Fernando provided the first breakthrough for Sri Lanka as he dismissed Shubman Gill. Sri Lankan Spinner's took the most wickets throughout the series even in this game as well. Dunith Wellalage bowled an outstanding bowling spell. He grabbed five wickets haul in just 31 balls he bowled. He took big wickets of India including Rohit Sharma and Virat kohli. 

Jeffery Vandersay and Mahesh Theekshana also took two wickets each. In Short, Sri Lankan Spinners were too good for India and they registered a history series victory here at the R. Premadasa Stadium. 

Awards

Dunith Wellalage was absolutely ruthless throughout the series. Keeping in view his brilliant performance, he was awarded with Player of the series award. While Avishka Fernando was awarded with Player of the match award.
